Testing is the process used to verify that the software delivers the functionally it is intended to deliver and identify defects as a result. SEI has introduced software quality assurance guideline PPQA (Process & Product Quality Assurance) on the other hand is used to objectively evaluate whether the processes are followed by the team in developing the software and the associated work products. Organizations who are interested in establishing consistency in software development within the organization in order to better manage the process and improve productivity and quality must have a PPQA function defined and staffed. A software quality assurance practitioner is a product verifier who defines the product test requirements: from design & implement to verifying the test results until they meet the requirements.
