The British School Jakarta is committed to providing a British-style international education of the highest quality, primarily for British and Commonwealth nationals but also, space permitting, for other families interested in this type of education. We address the diverse needs of our students, offering a strong foundation in all aspects of learning, to challenge and prepare them for a successful future.
From the classrooms and community spaces in Primary to the specialist classrooms in Secondary, staff and students together are able to enjoy high-quality teaching and learning. In addition to these academic facilities, we have a large theatre, a swimming pool, tennis courts, and football pitches on campus to provide multiple opportunities for students to have an enriched experience at the school. In 2018, we completed our new sports hall, which is of national standard specifications.
Our curriculum is compatible with both British and international education systems, which allows students to have a truly multi-layered learning experience, from inquiry-based learning in Primary and the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), through to IB MYP, (i)GCSE’s and the IB Diploma and Careers Programmes, where our results in both are consistently above the world average.
The philosophy at BSJ is to provide an education to meet the needs of our students now and to equip them to partake in the opportunities of the future. BSJ takes great pride in its tradition of being a leader in British International Education. BSJ, through its wonderful community and collaborative partnerships, provides an education that is more than just schooling. Our students have numerous opportunities to find and explore their passions and talent within school life that synergizes with their academic progress. The academic and life skills that they learn here are absolutely vital for their future success.
At BSJ we take education very seriously. Our students will leave school and enter a very competitive world where they will need all their academic ability, strength of character, and personal skills to be happy and successful. We provide a rigorous but nurturing environment in which our students will become active and capable citizens of tomorrow.
Every child is different at each stage of their development and therefore has different needs. BSJ aims to recognise and meet these needs through a differentiated and challenging curriculum and a range of exciting additional opportunities. We pride ourselves in knowing each child and in working with each individual to realise their true potential in the classroom, in the laboratory, on the stage, or the playing field.
