CGTI is the first-ever fashion and textile training institute in Cambodia that aspires to narrow the gap between training needs and existing job matches in Cambodia. In collaboration with GMAC, we provide qualitative and quantitative capacity building goals.
Recognizing the need to grow the skilled workforce for the garment industry as well as narrow the gap between training needs and existing job matches in Cambodia, the Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC) sought for companies to set up Cambodian Garment Training Institute (CGTI) with the aim of providing qualitative and quantitative capacity building goals.
In conjunction with TaFtc International Pte Ltd, which is the international arm of Textile and Fashion Industry Training Centre (TaF.tc), established in 1983, CGTI has been launched and will provide both long-term training programmes as well as short-term courses tailored to the demands of the Fashion industry.
The Garment Industry bloomed in 1994 and since then, there are an estimated 700,000 workers employed amongst the 549 garment export-oriented factories and 57 footwear factories registered with GMAC.
