The Faculty of Letters is a faculty of the National University of Laos, which plays a key role in building human resources in the field of linguistics to serve society and to meet the socio-economic development of the nation, which is detailed below:

– Create human resources at the university level for the whole country

– Create writers for Lao and international society

– Create foreign language credits for domestic and foreign

– Provide advanced language and literature training for Lao and foreign staff

-Build media technicians

Disseminate Lao language and culture to foreigners

Vision

Supports the teaching-learning of Lao language, Lao literature, Lao culture, and foreign languages; Specializes in the development of linguists, translators and journalists of regional and international standards; To train people to have the quality, knowledge, skills, morals and mental intelligence to serve the nation.

The master’s degree has 4 branches

  1. Master of Letters Program in Lao Language
  2. Master of Letters Program in Lao Literature
  3. Master of Letters Program in English-Foreign Language Teaching
  4. Master of Letters in English for Communication and Administration
