Greenovator is a social enterprise based in Yangon, Myanmar whose free-for-use mobile application called Green Way empowers farmers with information, services and data-driven solutions to address challenges on agriculture, livestock and fisheries farms.

In Myanmar, the agriculture sector is crucial to the well-being of the country, with approximately 70% of the population (about 38 million people) directly and indirectly employed by the sector. In spite of the importance of agriculture to Myanmar’s GDP, farmers earn approximately USD$2-3 per day, very low compared to international standards.

Myanmar farmers are at the heart of everything we do. Greenovator’s goal is to empower farmers to build sustainable operations, while enhancing livelihoods, reducing economic and social inequality, and enhancing good farming practices.

In 2011, Greenovator’s two cofounders foresaw an opportunity to use technology to help farmers. As graduates from Yenzin Agriculture University, the cofounders had worked with directly with farmers and saw the real challenges Myanmar farmers face. They established Greenovator as a social enterprise dedicated to Myanmar’s agriculture sector.
