Templer Park International School(TPIS) is situated just outside Kuala Lumpur among the mountains near Rawang and Batu caves. It embraces large green areas, lakes, gazebos for outdoor lessons, a swimming pool, sport fields and plenty of gardens surrounded by a nature reserve. TPIS’s beautiful scenery allows the students to learn about the world around them, and how they can raise awareness about environmental pollution and climate change.
In TPIS we have an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere, encouraged by the fact we are actively involved with the community through fundraising for local charities and students doing community service throughout the school year. We have a desire through the golden rules of TPIS to build the community through empowering our students.
We have an inherent belief that technology needs to be a part of education, especially in the classrooms, so we make sure that students have access to tablets and computers, where they are able to complete their assignments, homework, and classwork either as a group or individual.
All this is merely a backdrop, however, because TPIS puts its students and their development first. In this healthy and natural environment, students from all over the world benefit from inclusive learning while being connected to nature and enjoying classes amid tastefully landscaped grounds. As TPIS devotes priority to academic, pedagogic, and early moral nurturing aspects in the learning process, the educators also dedicate significant effort in taking care of the physical, psychological, and wellness needs of the students, as well as instilling a sense of diversity, equity, and justice among them.
TPIS offers an enriched, balanced, and broad American curriculum, delivered with an international perspective, yet keeping with US Common Core state standards. The flexibility of the American curriculum means that the school is given more creative freedom to tailor the learning based on individual needs, supported by range of extracurricular activities, ensuring that students to have the opportunity to develop fully as individuals. Personalised instructions are geared towards inquiry-based, hands-on teaching methods and world class learning strategies in which students choose the learning style of their own preference, whether it is in traditional learning or blended learning. The fact that TPIS is accredited by the American International Accreditation Association of Schools and Colleges (AIAA) means that the school is fully qualified as a school that meets the AIAA’s high standards.
Through our serving the community and advanced classrooms we are enriching the students’ lives, preparing them not just for their future careers, but also building their emotional understanding of the world, and becoming upstart citizens of the 21st century.
